Santiago Cortés
-an artist always being IN THE MIX!
Since 1991, Santiago Cortés, a Latino-Swiss musician
and composer, has been producing music for TV and film, and
doing regular DJ dance music gigs in the USA, South America,
Italy, Spain and Asia. During 1997 - 2000, Santiago completed
his education as a sound engineer and founded his own SMP label
in 2005. He immediately took his
new profession very seriously and collaborated with top professional
musicians, engineers and producers in Europe and abroad producing
his debut album WELCOME TO MY AIRLINE, released in September
2005; e.g. with the lead singer Skip Martin (Grammy winner,
New York) from "Kool and the Gang", and with "Tony
Martinez and the Cuban Power" (two time Grammy nominee,
New York). His second album FIRST CLASS is another benchmark
in national but in international house music too. Therefore
he worked with Kim Cooper (Defected Records), Michael Procter,
Lynn Lockamy (McFarlane Productions – ancient Robin S.)
or Phil Dankner – all well known artists in the genre
of house music giving this second album a unique style and great
variability in
between electro grooves and chill house. Early 2005, Santiago's
Nr. 1 hit single and music video DON`T LEAVE ME was accepted
for N1 rotation on Viva Switzerland and on Latin-MTV in Miami,
and made the Swiss Top 40 within one
week of air play. But as well his second single SUPERSTAR released
in September 2005 made the Swiss Top 40 within one week. Late
in January 2006 his third single SATURDAY was released in combination
with a new video-clip and become another benchmark is Swiss
dance music. And the latest production has been CRAZY which
made the
radio charts up to number 1 got appreciation from all over the
world.In 2007 Santiago Cortes released his third album IN THE
MIX, basically reflecting his knowledge as a DJ which run out
of stock in Switzerland within four weeks. But nevertheless,
as well his studio work got attention again.
With a remix of Samantha Fox`s hit TOUCH ME he produced another
benchmark in his career, always ambitious to it better and faster
than all the others in the industry.
Not only mentioned productions made Santiago Cortés to
one of the most impressing persons in Swiss music industry but
as well his international network which allows him to work on
a international niveau, based on an almost endless repertoire
of artists. Furthermore, he joined with media and fashion partners
such as Radio 105, the leading Swiss youth radio, to produce
his own radio show every Friday evening or Astons Nightwear
as well as Diva Vodka.
And last but not least, he is the first Swiss musician having
his own platform in SecondLife.com. His club FIRST CLASS is
frequently vistied and a must for all house fans in this unique
virtual world- Beside his production activities Santiago Cortés
still enjoys bookings as a DJ such as Guest-DJ iat Club Amnesia
Ibiza, Resident-DJ at Amnesia Ibiza World Tour, Guest-DJ at
“finest clubs of the world” and at venues all over
the world such as Miami, Spain, Geneva, Zuerich, Dubai, Tokio
which allow him to be very close to the development in dance
